What to Expect from Our Curriculum
The curriculum used at our kindergarten has been designed to expose your child to different milestones in their educational journey, from playgroup, preschool and kindergarten. Children are innately curious and have a desire to know more. Our curriculum capitalizes on that and fosters an even greater interest to learn more about our world and what their place in it truly is.
So, what do our early learning centers provide when it comes to the curriculum? We have an extensive list of programs that have been time-tested and proven to help our children in gaining a great head start and preparing them for primary school life.
Kinder Koala are committed to life-long learning and believe that children needs to be actively involved in the program in order for them to extend their thinking and desire to learn well into the future.
Trilingual Immersion

Mandarin
Using the right resources and having our student immerse in this language, we ensure our students develop competencies in the Mandarin language that involves words recognition, reading, speaking , writing strokes (笔画), 偏旁, etc. As the kids progress from one year to another year, so will the number of words they are learning to recognize. Chinese dictation will also be given to familiarize our students with primary school activities. Children are encouraged to speak in Mandarin to get them immersed into the language and adapt to the Chinese-speaking culture.
Singapore Maths
Besides teaching our students the basic mathematical concepts, we go a step further by guiding our students how to mathematically think so that they can rely on the theory and build on concepts, exposing them to the famous Singapore math methodology.
Learning Approaches
Reggio Emilia
The Reggio Emilia approach to early learning is deeply embedded in Kinder Koala whereby we incorporate their beliefs and understandings of children and learning into our values and daily practice.
We strongly believe all children are strong, capable and resilient; full of wonder and knowledge. It is the Reggio belief that all children have a voice. This approach provides opportunities for children to share their ideas, opinions and make connections in their learning journey.
Our curriculum is respectful of children, their rights and their desire to learn. We also believe that every child brings with them a deep curiosity that drives their interest to understand their world and their place within it. Our goal is to embrace this curiosity, challenge each child’s thinking and facilitate their eagerness to learn and construct understanding.
Project work is fundamental to the Reggio Emilia approach to learning. Project based learning provides children with an opportunity to investigate and explore an area of interest. This includes inquiry based projects, which can last for as long as the children are showing interest in the topic. The project can be viewed in many aspects of the environment, such as through drawing and sculpting, dance and movement, painting and pretend play, modelling and music, ensuring each one of these allow children to use their senses and all their languages to learn.
S.T.E.M. Education
A learning approach that focuses on science, technology, engineering, and math. We cover subjects like gravity, electricity, sound, and water to foster an interest in children about how the world works. In this program, we use extensively the STEM learning tools/materials from renowned HAPE brand from Germany.
